I created Little Love Bug Co after leaving my corporate sales job in 2017 to stay at home and raise my two daughters. My children’s moccasin shoe brand grew from a business run from my kitchen table into a curated community of mothers. Learning that I wasn’t alone changed everything.
I’m a real mom that faces real issues. My first desk was my kitchen table. I multitask and parent while running an ecommerce business. But beyond the normal stresses of everyday life – I was diagnosed with postpartum insomnia. I was exhausted, but I literally couldn’t sleep. My options were very limited and I didn’t want to take a doctor prescribed medication that would have me zonked out like a zombie at night. I needed something that would help me sleep, but still allow me to be alert in order to take care of my daughters if need be.
I was frustrated with my doctor’s recommendations as I especially wanted to steer clear of anything with addictive properties that would set me on a road of constant prescription medication just to sleep. That’s what led me to hemp.
Trying CBN for sleep
One of my good friends led me to try CBN as a holistic and natural solution for my lack of sleep. I had found that running a business during the day also meant my mind wanted to continue business well into late hours of the night. I was often restless with thoughts when my eyes were closed and my head was on the pillow: New shoe designs. The girl’s playdate schedule. “Did I ever answer that email?” Falling asleep was becoming as hard and persistent as starting a new business from home (ha-ha).

I started with the recommended dose of 20mg from the middle-of-the-road 600mg bottle. Taken about an hour before I was ready to (try to) sleep. The effects took on slowly, but in a very gentle and comforting way. It wasn’t anything too crazy or notable as I expected. Establishing a sleep routine

To my surprise, I found myself feeling a bit more creative. Writing copy for my website felt more like a flow of words to my fingertips, rather than a fight for phrases. I think this could’ve stemmed from that whole anxiety-management aspect it gave. It slowed my racing mind just enough, and brought an overall calm to my body that took out a level of otherwise tenseness I often feel in my body. Mommying is hard, so it was nice to feel ready to check things off my list without that tightness in my chest or anxious feeling that I was carrying the world on my shoulders.
That night I took the hemp extract again an hour before I wanted to turn my phone off, I was hoping to slowly unwind into sleep. Turning CBN into a routine
